Cooley Secures Dismissal of SEC Suit in Options Backdating Case (The Wall Street Journal)
Partner Bill Freeman is quoted in The Wall Street Journal Law blog regarding the Firm's successful representation of Kent Roberts, former general counsel at McAfee, Inc., against a civil suit brought by the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC). The dismissal of the suit closed the book on Roberts' nearly three-year battle with the Department of Justice and SEC related to charges of improper backdating of stock options.
