Cooley Sponsors OnMedia NYC Conference in New York for Digital Media

New York – More than 700 technology, media and advertising CEOs, business development officers, media buyers, venture-capital and private-equity investors participated in the Cooley-sponsored OnMedia NYC conference at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York from Feb. 1 - 3.

The annual conference, which focuses on the changing landscape of digital media and adtech, featured CEO presentations and high-level debates in the marketing, branding, advertising and public relations industries. Cooley attorneys Janet Cullum, a partner in the Trademark, Advertising & Copyright practice group, and Bo Yaghmaie, the head of the New York Business Technology Group, were featured speakers at the conference.
 
"As it always has, quality content remains the key to reaching target audiences effectively," said Cullum during a panel discussion on branded content.  "The key legal consideration from an intellectual property standpoint is to know who owns the content before it becomes widely popular on the web."
 
"This is an exciting time for start-ups and investors in the digital space as the increased availability of, and the high demand for, content and improved content monetization solutions are spurring innovation and creating opportunities, especially here in New York," said Yaghmaie, following his panel on the venture capital forecast for 2010.
