Francis R. Wheeler is a partner in the Cooley Business department, resident in the Colorado office. He joined the Firm in January 2001.
Mr. Wheeler's practice includes corporate, securities and transactional matters, including public and private offerings, mergers and acquisitions, international transactions, corporate governance and securities law disclosure and compliance. He has represented publicly and privately held companies in a broad range of industries.
Prior to joining Cooley, Mr. Wheeler was a partner with a large Denver-based firm, where he chaired that firm's Commercial Law and Securities Practice Group. Mr. Wheeler also practiced with Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy in New York City.
Mr. Wheeler is currently named in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers in Corporate/M&A (Band 1); in Best Lawyers in America in Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions Law and Securities Law; in Euromoney Expert Guides in Corporate Governance; and as a Colorado Super Lawyer in Securities and Corporate Finance.
Mr. Wheeler received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, a J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School and a B.S., magna cum laude, from Weber State University in Chemistry.
He is admitted to practice in the States of Colorado and New York.
