Jason L. Kent is a partner in the Emerging Companies and Securities Regulation practice groups and a member of the Cooley Business department. He joined the Firm in June 2000 and is resident in the San Diego office. The Firm's San Diego office was recently named the #1 firm in San Diego as ranked by area corporate board members, according to Corporate Board Member magazine.
Mr. Kent represents private and public companies in a wide range of corporate and securities matters, including private financings, public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, tender offers, joint ventures, commercial agreements, corporate governance matters, and employment and compensation arrangements. He also advises investment banks, venture capital firms, and private equity funds in connection with financings and other transactions. Mr. Kent is counsel to companies in diverse industries, including biotechnology, medical device, retail and consumer products, sports, semiconductor, software and cleantech. His clients range from start-ups to public companies with hundreds of millions of dollars in annual revenues.
Mr. Kent received a J.D. (Order of the Coif), from Stanford Law School in 1998. He completed a B.A., summa cum laude, in Economics and Accounting from Claremont McKenna College in 1995.
Mr. Kent is a member of the State Bar of California, the American Bar Association and the San Diego County Bar Association.
