Shira Nadich Levin serves as partner in charge of Cooley's New York office. A partner in the Real Estate practice, Ms. Levin also serves as Co-Chair of the Real Estate Leasing Group and Chair of the Cooley Women's Initiative. She joined Kronish Lieb Weiner & Hellman LLP in 2004, which merged into Cooley Godward Kronish LLP in 2006.
Ms. Levin has extensive experience in a wide range of commercial real estate matters, including office, retail, shopping center, industrial and warehouse leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures and financings. She represents developers and owners with respect to all stages of real property acquisition, ownership and management, as well as a number of condominium associations and cooperative housing corporations in connection with the management of their properties, mortgage financings, retail leasing and general commercial agreements and disputes. Recent matters handled by Ms. Levin include:
- The leasing, acquisition and financing of multiple office, warehouse and industrial properties, principally in Manhattan and the greater New York metropolitan area;
- The management, leasing and financing of office and shopping center properties in the greater New York metropolitan area;
- The management of real estate properties, including the management of several Class A office buildings in New York, and the sale of holdings (valued in excess of $90 million dollars) in multiple residential properties in New York City.
Ms. Levin is rated AV® Preeminent™ (5.0 out of 5) by the Peer Review Rating of Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory and has been named as one of New York's "Super Lawyers" for the past five years. Ms. Levin is active in many charitable organizations, including the Abraham Joshua Heschel School, a pluralistic day school in New York City, having served as president of its board. She also represents many not-for-profit entities on a pro bono basis.
Ms. Levin is admitted to practice before the New York State Bar.
