Mark Tanoury, Partner

Mark P. Tanoury is a partner in Cooley's Business department. He has been with the Firm since 1982 and is resident in the Palo Alto office. He served as chair of the Firm's Business department from 1999 to 2002 and currently serves on the Firm's Executive Committee.

His practice includes all areas of corporate, partnership and securities laws, with a focus on the formation and financing of emerging growth companies and venture capital partnerships. He has served as lead counsel in a wide variety of public and private financings over the years and has been a speaker at numerous seminars on the topic. Mr. Tanoury was named in Chambers USA 2008 as a national leader in Investment Funds: Venture Capital and in California as a leader in Corporate/M&A: Venture Capital.

Mr. Tanoury graduated magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 1982, where he was a member of the Michigan Law Review and elected to the Order of the Coif. Mr. Tanoury received an M.B.A. in Finance in 1978 from the University of California, Berkeley. He received a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the Ohio State University in 1977, graduating summa cum laude and previously was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
